This exceptional UK 1st MONO pressing of their debut album dates from initial March 1963 release on the gold & black Parlophone label: PMC 1202

Both earliest-type labels have the 'Dick James..' publishing credits for tracks 1, 2, 6 & 7 on side 1 and 2, & 4 on side 2.

An 'MT' purchase tax code on the centre of the side 1 label.

Matrices: XEX 421-1N & XEX 422-1N

Stamper codes: 1/A & 1/GR

Vinyl weight: 168g

Housed in a correct, early-type front laminated, flipback 'Ernest J. Day' printed mono cover, with the 'Angus McBean' credit positioned in the extreme lower right corner of the front panel.

Complete with its original 'Use Emitex...' poly-lined inner-sleeve.

A really superb set with no damage or wear to either the paper or the delicate gold lettering. A few faint spindle trails are visible at an angle on side 2 but there is no wear to either centre hole.

Clean, deep gloss playing surfaces with two or three light surface marks on each side but nothing deep or feelable. Both playing surfaces retain their factory rainbow shine beneath halogen light and lie flat on the turntable when playing.

The power and clarity of this pressing shine through at every level which has never been matched. This well looked after copy has received minimal careful play only and plays without any significant audible faults. Our careful play check revealed a hint of groovewear on some tracks but nothing serious.

A very clean & strong example which retains and find unscratched high gloss front panel laminate showing just a few small wrinkles to the edges. There is minor shelfwear to the corners but all seams are smooth, unstressed and unsplit. The rear panel is clean, white and unblemished with no discolouration, writing or missing paper.
