Description

This ultra-rare UK MONO pressing dates from October 1969 on the 1-EMI box Parlophone label: PMC 1255

Just a single tiny batch of pressings on this label were issued and even fewer were sold. It is the hardest to find of all UK MONO pressings.

Both labels have' The Gramophone Co..' worded rims.

1st pressing matrices: XEX 549-2 & XEX 550-2

Stamper codes: 9/MDT & 1,8/ATM

Vinyl weight: 137g

Housed in the rarer front laminated, tri-flipback 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed MONO cover without a mono front indicator. Most copies of this pressing had a 'mono' front indicator.

Complete with original red & white EMI advertising inner-sleeve.

CONDITION

Visual: VERY GOOD

Both sides of this rare disc are clean & glossy with one or two light/non-feelable marks visible strong daylight. Close inspection directly beneath halogen light reveals a number of wispy marks but nothing we would call a scratch. Both labels are clean with some noticeable spindle marks around each centre hole.

Audio: VERY GOOD +

All tracks play well without any major issues. Our careful play-check at volume detected some regular vinyl background between tracks and a couple of soft clicks on 'Act Naturally' and 'It's Only Love'. There are no jumps, repeats or any other such faults. Impossible to find in any condition.

Cover: VERY GOOD

A fully intact example of this rare cover with general/moderate storagewear but no major faults. The front panel has several laminate wrinkles and there is some wear to the upper edge of the spine and lower right corner. The rear panel has some light handling marks and slight smudging to Paul's portrait  but all flipbacks, both seams and the fully worded spine are in unstressed & unsplit.

Inner-sleeve: EXCELLENT
