Description

By the time this pressing hit the shops, the Beatles had just released the 'White Album' and this album was totally obsolete to Beatles fans. However, EMI kept the faith with it and the almost dead mono format, issuing it to a largely uninterested public in late 1968.

This fabulously rare mono edition is on the familiar black & yellow Parlophone label: PMC 1206

Both labels bear all the hallmarks of regular mono post-1963 mono pressings, except for a light ridge around the edge of both labels which is a unique feature seen only on these final pressings.

Matrices: XEX 447-7N & XEX 448-7N

Very high stamper codes: 3,18/GTL & 9,17/RRM

Vinyl weight: 147g

House in a front laminated 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed cover with the small mono front indicator.

Complete with original red & white EMI advertising inner-sleeve.

CONDITION

Disc:-

Labels: VERY GOOD +

Both are unblemished with just moderate wear to and around each centre hole.

Visual: VERY GOOD

Clean, deep-gloss playing surfaces with some light/wispy hairlines on each side but no deep or feelable marks or scratches.

Audio: MINT -

Despite having been played a number of times, the sound quality throughout is clean, clear & powerful with no audible issues or distractions.

Cover: VERY GOOD +

A very respectable example of this impossible to find cover which bears light /general storagewear but no major faults. The striking front panel is clean & white where it should be with no yellowing or discolouration. There is some storagewear rubbing to the laminate but only a single 'thumbnail' wrinkle. The corners are in good shape with only the upper left being slight softened. Both opening edges are free from any tears but do have some small age related marks at points along the front. The rear panel has a faint ring mark from storage but it otherwise clean & bright with no writing or missing paper. All flipbacks are in-place, and both seams and the fully worded spine are undamaged

Inner-sleeve: EXCELLENT +
