Records were not shrinkwrapped or sealed in the UK until retailers like Virgin and HMV began the practice in the mid-1970's. Therefore sealed UK pressings from before that time are extremely rare.
This 45 was exported to the U.S. for sale in Tower Records who sealed it on receipt for sale in one of their stores.
This SEALED UK pressing of 'Paperback Writer'/'Rain' (R 5452) dates from 1969.
The disc is on the very short-lived black & silver Parlophone label WITHOUT the 'Sold in UK...' text but with 'The Gramophone Co...' rims.
Housed in its original green & white 'swirl' Parlophone cover advertising contemporary Parlophone LPs releases on the rear and its original 'Tower Records' price sticker on the front.
