This wonderful collector's piece comprises an original UK 1st pressing 45 on the black & silver Parlophone label: R 5200
The record comes together with its original record shop bag and receipt. However, this is not from any old record shop, but EMI's main flagship store the 'His Master' Voice' (HMV) store on Oxford Street, London.
The record has been preserved these past 56 years inside its original HMV store bag along with the original till receipt dated '10 Dec 64'. ('I Feel Fine' was at number one in the UK on that day). The receipt also details original price, 6 shilling and eightpence (6-8).
The disc has all the usual 1st pressing hallmarks: 'Sold in UK...' text and 'The Parlophone Co..' rims and is housed in original green & white Parlophone company sleeve.
Matrices: 7XCE 18171-1N & 7XCE 18172-1N
Stamper codes: 8/GDL & 2,6/TO
CONDITION
Disc: EXCELLENT +
This well looked-after disc has been played just a handful of times as evidenced by the small number of spindle trials on the labels. Both playing surfaces retain all of their just-press factory shine and are unmarked, even directly beneath halogen light.
Cover: EXCELLENT
Clean & fully intact with minimal handling wear.
Shop bag: As seen.
Moderate age-toning along with light creasing and a small tear to one of the upper edges. However, there were not made to last and remarkably few survive.
A real museum piece.
